Natural Catfish Cave

The catfish caves of CeramicNature are handmade from ceramics and they are 100% safe for people, animals and nature. The color of the catfish caves is ingrained in the clay so that the color will not disappear as with painted aquarium decoration.

The catfish caves are often used as shelter or breeding den. The holes are used by several fish species to deposit their eggs and/or to raise their young. Especially Harness catfish (l-numbers) use these shelters to deposit their eggs, often the male guards them until they hatch. For the cultivation of l-numbers, we recommend using multiple shapes and sizes of laying holes so that the l-numbers can choose which one they like best. Also try to lay the laying burrows in different directions of flow, this will be appreciated by the fish.
